Tempeh BLT with Garlic and Chive Spread

Makes 4 sandwiches

Garlic and Chive Spread

4 tbsp Crystal Margarine

1 clove Garlic, minced

2 tbsp Chives

1/4 tsp Black Pepper Ground

 

12 slices of Tempeh

2 tsp Crystal Margarine

2 tbsp Maple Syrup

 

4 tbsp Vegan Mayonnaise

4 pieces Green Leaf Lettuce

8 pieces Whole Grain Bread

 

Garlic & Chive Spread

Combine Crystal Margarine, black pepper, chives, and garlic in a small bowl.

Assembly

Cook tempeh in a non-stick pan with Crystal Margarine over medium heat until browned and slightly crispy.

Drizzle the maple syrup over the tempeh. Cook for about 30 seconds or until the syrup is reduced and the tempeh is well glazed.

Toast the bread and spread the garlic and chive spread onto the pieces. Spread a layer of vegan mayonnaise on the bottom piece of the bread.

Top the bottom piece of bread with tempeh, tomato, and lettuce.
