Prep & Proofing Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 store bought pizza dough
- 3 eggs, scrambled and cooked
- 6 breakfast sausages, sliced and fried
- 230g / 2 cups cheddar, grated
- 113g / ½ cup Margarine Crystal, melted
- 2g / 1 tsp Black pepper, ground
- 35g / ⅓ cup Bread Crumbs
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).
2. Divide the dough into 12 pieces, then shape each piece into a ball. Do this by cupping your hand over the dough and rolling it around in a circle on the counter. Cover with a damp towel and rest for 10 minutes.
3. Working one at a time, take a ball of dough and press down the center with your thumb to make a well. In it place a few pinches of egg, cheese and sausage.
4. Fold the dough in half, around the filling and begin pinching the dough together, sealing it shut, leaving you with a half circle shape. Set aside, press down to gently flatten the dough, and cover with a damp towel, while you fill the remaining dough balls.
5. Once all the dough balls are filled, brush the inside of a bundt pan, with some of the melted Crystal margarine, then sprinkle across some of the breadcrumb.
6. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the remaining melted Crystal margarine and black pepper.
7. Dip one breakfast bundle into the melted Crystal margarine and place it into the prepared pan. Repeat with the remaining bundles, until all of them are neatly tucked into the baking pan.
8. Cover with a damp towel, allowing the bundles to proof in the pan for 25-30 minutes.
9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, uncovered until the dough is golden all over, or a thermometer inserted into the center of the bundle reads 212F (100C).
10. Remove from the oven, and leave the pan to cool for 8 to 10 minutes.
11. Place a plate on top of the Bundt pan, and carefully invert the pan, keeping on hand on the pan and one hand on the plate. Give a little shake, and remove the pan to unmold the breakfast bundle ring.
12. Serve on it’s own as a grab-and-go snack or, sit down with the family and try some dipping sauces like ketchup, or sour cream.
Chef Notes
- Make this a meatless breakfast favourite by adding in some freshly chopped green onions, extra cheese and any other fresh vegetable your heart desires.
- If you don’t have the time to, or just don’t want to make the dough from scratch, head over to your local grocery store or bakery and buy 2 bags of their pre-made, ready to go pizza dough. It will save you time, and costs a little less.
