directions
Prepare your sauce and onions
For your “Special Sauce”, combine all the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper and adjust the ingredients to personal preference.
In a sauté pan, melt 2 tbsps of Crystal Margarine, and add your sliced onions. Cook them down until brown, season to taste with salt and pepper.
Prepare your smash burgers
Form your Impossible meat into 4 equal size balls.
Preheat your frying pan on medium-high heat and place down 1-2 tbsps of Crystal Margarine
Place down your Impossible meatballs, 2 at a time on the pan, leaving some space between them. Season with salt and pepper.
Place a small piece of parchment paper on top of the patter and smash down with a spatula until your patty is about ¼ inch thick – take a wooden spoon and apply more pressure on the spatula.
Once nicely browned, flip your patties and place a slice of cheese on each smash patty.
Add a tbsp of water to the pan and quickly place on a lid to let the cheese melt.
Assemble your patty melt
Toast your Texas toast on both sides in a skillet with Crystal Margarine.
Spread a generous amount of your special sauce on both pieces of toast.
Place your smash burgers onto the bottom piece of toast, then top with your grilled onions.
